Ice caves & snowy pines❄️🌊🌲 Quick walk out above Ice caves & snowy pines❄️🌊🌲Quick walk out above the Apostle Islands sea caves to check out some of the ice formations below 👀👀 a lot of people have heard about the ice caves, which haven’t opened for foot traffic on the surface of Lake Superior for nearly 10 years, but don’t realize the hiking trail above the caves is actually open year-round :) This is one of my favorite winter hikes, snowshoes generally not needed, $5 fee to park, and be sure to use really good judgement near the edges of cliffs :)📍Traditional homelands of the Anishinaabe Nation

Winter wonderland on a budget❄️🧤🥾 One of my favor Winter wonderland on a budget❄️🧤🥾One of my favorite things about Lake Superior travel is that depending on where you visit (north shore trends more expensive!) it can be relatively budget-friendly especially in the winter. A lot of ski hills have weekday specials, Nordic ski rentals and passes are often less that $50 a day, you can book a group sauna session at a discount, hiking is free other than park passes and lodging is discounted compared to the summer.
