lake superior winter adventure ideas✨❄️🥾 lake superior winter adventure ideas✨❄️🥾 I’ve been lucky enough to spend the last four winters living on Lake Superior, and it’s absolutely one of the best places to visit in the Midwest :) Here’s where to stay❄️⬇️ ✨book a hotel in Duluth for access to the north shore and Bayfield areas ✨many municipal campgrounds are open for winter camping for a budget option (if you have the gear which is often less budget) ✨ check out staying in Houghton, MI for access to the Keweenaw and plenty of waterfall hikes Where to hike❄️🥾⬇️ ✨ as long as it’s not directly after significant snowfall, you probably don’t need snowshoes but you will need microspikes ✨ for short hikes check out the local lighthouses coated in snow! ✨ my favorite hikes throughout the region are high falls in Tettegouche, cascade river state park, the Meyers beach sea caves, Houghton falls, canyon falls, bond falls, and “way out east” tahquamenon falls Places to visit/ things to do❄️🫶 ✨ @sisuandloylysauna ✨ book backcountry skiing with a local outfitter (some resorts also offer guided trips) ✨visit the best local bakeries — cocos in Washburn, Ashland baking company, cedar coffee co, new scenic cafe, timber coffee co, nisu Finnish bakery 💗 Share your lake superior favorites below :) photo 13 with @rachel_moon__ 📸 📍the land along Lake Superior is the cultural homelands of the Anishinaabe Tribes #lakesuperior #greatlakes #winter
