Lake Superior gales season is ✨here✨☔️🌊 Lake Superior gales season is ✨here✨☔️🌊 every November, things pick up on the Big Lake and we see waves in excess of 25 ft!! Here’s a few tips for Great Lakes wave watching:⬇️ 1- safety first! Stay away from the edges of cliffs and places where the waves sweep over. Remember that wave heights are not uniform; just because it doesn’t look like waves have been washing over somewhere doesn’t mean a large wave won’t wash over there. 2- check the marine forecast to see what wave heights will be. Windy.com is a good resources 3- it’s cold out when it looks like this! Dress for the wet 4- best spots to watch waves are places where the shoreline is fully exposed to the wind and waves on lake superior! Points and cliffs make a good place to start :) 5- check out Split Rock Lighthouse or Tettegouche state park in Minnesota for northeast or east storms 📍Anishinaabe traditional land #lakesuperior #greatlakes #minnesota

late autumn in the north cascades🍂✨🥾 1- f late autumn in the north cascades🍂✨🥾 1- from a hike with @itsevajane where we got lost driving down forest service roads in the dark and basically entered the twilight zone 2- Andy and I hiked 4 miles in the rain planning to backpack and decided to hike out instead of camp because the weather was crap and with guiding all summer and sleeping in tents, we really didn’t feel like we had anything to prove. Plus like, we pay rent and there’s WiFi at home what can I say 3- a late fall drive that turned a little harrowing when we hit the snow line 4- a mountain stream in the rain 5- the destination lake with @itsevajane 6- mountain fall and fog 7- an early autumn sunny hike to a glacier 8 & 9- north cascades details 🫶 📍traditional land of the Nooksack, Snohomish, Snoqualmie, and Chelan Nations

In high school I thought it was ugly here and there was nothing to do and that *surely* I would leave the midwest.
